Bossard began her career as a commercial seafood worker in 1999. She began to work on the F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner that was turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard is now is married to Aritan and they've united to make their rights to the industry. They support conservative and sustainable renewable resource management. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood founded within Philadelphia in 2007, by a mother of two young children: Bella aged 3, and Andre age 1. The name of the company is a loving reminder of her intimate fish biology knowledge and her husband's long connection to the industry of seafood, often keeping them apart for 5 months or longer when they are focused on their the environment and financial goals that reflect both their independence and dedication to the community in which they live. Bossard and her children Andre 10, and Isabella 12 make their annual return in Southeast Alaska as deckhands to catch wild salmon in summer. Hooks and lines are used to catch their fish after which they join Aritan to market their products to local processors for 2 months.
